By participating in this program, cooperating universities can organize groups of students to participate in two academic courses in a variety of UBC faculties while gaining first-hand experience of Canadian culture and practices, as well as meeting fellow students from around the world.Â
Typical courses include interactive lectures and discussions, assignments, and tests that can be completed in class or at home. Some courses include classroom learning and field trips on or off campus. These field trips may include community engagement and fieldwork.Â
Instructors and teaching assistants at the Vancouver Summer Program provide a supportive learning environment. During the program, instructors provide email and in-class support to students. After completing the program successfully, students will receive a certificate and grade letter.
Calgary International Summer Program
The Calgary International Summer Program consists of two academic courses or one academic course + ESL training with a field trip and accommodation on campus for international students visiting ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø this summer.Â
- English language training courses are taught by English language specialists at The University of Calgary Continuing Education, and academic courses are taught by the University of Calgary faculty. During these intensive programs, students will experience Calgary’s campus environment, gain international academic experience, learn about Canadian culture, and visit Calgary’s top attractions. There are two program formats to choose from: English + One Academic Course, where students spend 50+ hours in an ESL course and 50+ hours in an academic course, costing $3,700.Â
- The second program format is Two Academic Courses, where students take two academic courses for a total of 100+ hours, costing $4,500. Students will also pay a $200 application fee. As part of your tuition, you are provided with textbooks and other learning materials, access to UCalgary’s library and sports facilities, shared on-campus accommodation, and emergency health insurance. The program offers courses in engineering, nursing, education, and humanities.Â
University of Alberta International Summer Program
During this four-week summer program, students will gain experience in Canadian studies and have time to enjoy summer activities. In addition to developing knowledge about ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø and intercultural communication skills, students will gain an understanding of what it is like to work on research projects in a Canadian graduate program.Â
The program will also include some local volunteering opportunities. There will be lectures and site visits during the four-week International Summer Program. A variety of topics will be covered, including Canadian Studies, Intercultural Communication, Graduate Research, and Community Engagement.Â
The students will have the opportunity to experience ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø’s oldest national park during a two-day Canadian Rockies trip. Banff National Park is home to astounding scenery, wildlife, and a rich history.Â
Individual registration for the 4-week International Summer Program costs CAD 4,600. This fee includes 20 days of academic programming and transportation to and from the Edmonton International Airport and the University of Alberta, accommodation in double occupancy rooms, Canadian Rockies Trip (2 nights, 2 days), and an application fee of CAD 150, which will be credited to the program fee if accepted.
Humber Global School
Humber Global Summer School is a 3-week intensive summer course where students from around the world earn elective credits and expand their global skills.Â
Students from around the world can choose from a variety of professionally driven summer courses to earn elective credit and build their international networks at the same time.Â
On-campus hotel-style accommodation is available at Humber’s Lakeshore campus during your stay, along with daily breakfast and lunch during your stay, only fifteen fifteen-minute walk from Lake Ontario.Â
Additionally, students will have access to a full social itinerary outside of classes, including a welcome reception, a Toronto city tour, a trip to Niagara Falls, and more. The program offers courses in health and wellness concepts, social media, a summer language program, podcast primer, intercultural communications, transformational leadership and advocacy, and more.Â
The program fee is CAD 2,895, which includes accommodation, breakfasts and lunches, academic course delivery, course trips and industry visits, transportation and entrance fees for all cultural activities, and health insurance for the duration of program dates.
