YMCA International Language School

Location: Montreal

Montreal’s YMCA International Language School, founded in 1965, receives an average of 6,000 students per year, including teenagers, during summer camps. The French Intensive Program at YMCA consists of nine levels focusing on four language skills: grammar, listening, and reading exercises, used to expand students’ knowledge of French. 

Students work in classrooms and laboratories; each level includes a section focusing on pronunciation. In addition to teaching English and French all year long, the school offers TOEFL, IELTS, and TFI preparation courses, as well as grammar, conversation, pronunciation, writing, and Business English and French. 

Students participating in the intensive programs have access to free internet and fitness facilities. The school also offers accommodation in homestay families, shared apartments, and dormitories. The course lasts from 1 to 36 weeks.
