ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø is rather forthcoming when it comes to its international students. For those who are entirely focused in their studies, there are some small jobs that don’t require a work permit yet are rather poorly paid.
On Campus employment
Study at University of Fredricton
The University of Fredericton (UFred) is a private institution established in 2005 in Fredericton, New Brunswick, that offers online, high-quality, and affordable education for students from all across ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø and the world
In order to be working inside the school premises you have to be:
- A full time student
- Have a valid student permit
- The job has to exclusively be inside the premises, regardless if the employer is the college or an outside contractor (Cafeteria, Cleaning Company)
- Academic students and ELS (English Language School) students are eligible.
Off-campus employment
In order to be working off-campus, University related jobs or volunteer activities you have to be:
- A full time student
- Have a valid Canadian student permit
- Academic student are eligible only; ESL students are not.
In case you don’t complete successfully the three coursed semester you lose the right to work; the college will report this to the designated authorities.
You will be working 20 hours per week during the semesters, and 40 hours per week during the yearly breaks (summer months, Christmas).
In case you are working with children or the elderly, you will have to pass the Canadian Medical Exam as required.
All other types of employment require a work permit.
